I am moving to India in a couple of weeks. We have been planning this move for almost 6 months, but now it’s all getting realistic! I am not exactly sure how I feel about it. I am a little stressed about the move. Some days I just want to be done with it.

Life here is getting monotonous and nothing feels challenging anymore. We have family there… Friends… All we need.

This weekend, I started packing and boxing stuff that I would take with me in advance since they need to be shipped and the boxes may take a couple of months to arrive. Some days I want to cry, but some days I get excited.

I know a lot of people do not want any kind of change just because they get comfortable. I believe one must try to experience everything want in life. I know a lot of people who crib (sometimes me too) about their situation, but are too afraid to try something different with the fear of failing.

I think it’s OK to fail, as long as you tried. It’s easy to look at other’s success and think, ‘they are so lucky’ or ‘they are so blessed’, but no one realizes they had to struggle too and do something out of their comfort zone.

I maybe be rambling right now, maybe that’s because my thoughts are all over the place, or I do not know what’s in store in my future, but I am trying to be positive.





I made this quilt a couple of years ago, but hardly used it, since it was never cold in Arizona. I got to use this winter in Chicago though.

I had learnt to crochet in maybe around 6th grade since it was part of my school curriculum. Never got to use it again until 2 years ago. I made loads and loads of scarves and caps and I was really proud of them.

But I am in love with this quilt. This took me around a week to complete and I am extremely proud of it. It’s not perfect, but for a beginner like me, I did well.

[They were crocheted in squares and all of them were later sewed together].

PALAK PANEER (cottage cheese) – Indian Dish

For all the Non- Indians in love with Indian food, I wanted to share one of my favorite vegetarian dishes!


  • 900 grams Spinach
  • 200 grams Paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 2-3 Green chilies
  • 8-10 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2-3 tablespoons Fresh cream
  • Salt to taste



  • Wash spinach thoroughly. Blanch in salted boiling water for two minutes
  • Transfer in chilled water. Take out the excess water. Blend into a fine paste along with green chilies
  • Cut the paneer into one inch by one inch by half inch pieces. Heat oil in a pan
  • Add cumin seeds. When they begin to change color, add garlic and sauté for a minute. Add the spinach puree and stir
  • When the gravy comes to a boil, add the paneer and mix well. Stir in lemon juice
  • Add fresh cream
  • Serve hot with rice or naan
